They Call Me Mister Fry is Mr. Fry's TRUE story of his 1st-year teacher teaching 5th grade in South Central Los Angeles. It's a funny and poignant story that has all the laughter, tears, and drama of an American Classic. It not only tells the struggles of a mid-westerner from Indiana dealing with a challenging, multi-ethnic body of students and his journey through the bowels of the big city bureaucracy, but his efforts to find his place in the world in this beautiful story about transformation, redemption, the fragility of life, and what we think our purpose is.

Mister Fry just recently won it's 2nd Best of the Fest from the 2010 Hollywood Fringe Festival (Asylum Theater) in June where 15 of the very best shows were selected from 176 shows and asked to extend (and Mister Fry was one of the 15). Mister Fry just recently played 3 months off-broadway at the Comic Strip Live Theater last November, December, and January. It played 2 Command Performances for THE Department of Education in Washington, DC, and has won the endorsement of Stephen Colbert from The Colbert Report. You can go to his website to see it (misterfry.com) It also won it's first one of the Best of the Fest from the DC theater critics in the 2009 Washington Capital Fringe where it was additionally honored with Best Male Monologue (All Arts Review).

"Jack Fry is the Patch Adams of Education" - LA Examiner
"... haunting and unforgettable." - Venice Magazine

Back in Indy

Hey there gang,

It's great to be back in Indy. I'm thrilled!!! I'm doing 12 shows here and I can't wait to be doing shows at the Indy Fringe again. Thanks for supporting the show and its message. I just finished the show at Park Tudor last week and I'm doing Marian University tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it. Here's a new photo taken by the photographer named Star from the LA Weekly.

Please keep me informed with what you're doing as well.
