Sad News

Mr. Fry extends his deep, heart felt condolences to the family of Rigaberto Ruelas, his friends and his students over his apparent suicide over the controversial, new teacher rating system now made public. He was a much beloved teacher whose students say they learned much from.

I think I speak for our group when I say our spirits were definitely lifted tonight after visiting They Call Me Mister Fry! We even felt that James should have received part of the profits because he was in charge of watching Excalibur for most of the evening. What a wonderful suggestion!

We can't wait to regroup and discuss once everyone has had the chance to see it. Thanks for encouraging us to go (*and sit up front for our chance in the spotlight).

Hi Jack,

I may be back personally. I sent emails to 3 of my friends and one of them I offered to accompany. Even my son liked the show, and to get an 11 year old engaged in anything other than video games is utterly amazing. Sean is actually a gifted student but almost nothing motivates him. At least, nothing intrinsic seems to motivate him. So to hear him say he really enjoyed the show, made me feel great that someone touched him.

It never ceases to amaze me how a single choice can take us places we would have never dreamed.

I just got back. Thank you for recommending this! I absolutely loved it. My 11 year old son even liked it. I sat close to Dr. Ross and she was really moved as well. I emailed some teacher friends about it when I got home. …and I’m thinking about going to see it one more time before it ends. No points necessary…. lol.

Back in Indy

Hey there gang,

It's great to be back in Indy. I'm thrilled!!! I'm doing 12 shows here and I can't wait to be doing shows at the Indy Fringe again. Thanks for supporting the show and its message. I just finished the show at Park Tudor last week and I'm doing Marian University tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it. Here's a new photo taken by the photographer named Star from the LA Weekly.

BESTof the FEST

Hey everybody, we just finished 3 performances for the Hollywood Fringe Festival which ended on June 27th. It was an exhausting, but fun experience. We had full houses for every show and we loved performing at the Lounge Theater.

We're proud to announce that They Call Me Mister Fry was just selected one of 15 shows out of 176 as BEST of the FEST of the 2010 Hollywood Fringe Festival. So we are EXTENDING FOR 4 PERFORMANCES in July and beginning of August. YAY!!! Please check the website for show times and ticket information.

Mr. Fry back in Culver City

I want to let everyone know, that I will be back at my home theater, Fanatic Salon in Culver City (Sawtelle Blvd and Venice Blvd) this coming Sunday, April 11th at 3pm. I'm very excited to perform this piece. This show is a very special show for me. It will be the 100th time They Call Me Mister Fry has been performed since the show was remounted in the fall of 2007. The show has grown and improved reaches out further in its depth, humor, and heart. People ask me if I'm going to write a Mister Fry 2. I have a philosophy that I would rather have one REALLY good show that people can see over and over, then a bunch of mediocre ones. Plus a lot of peeps haven't had a chance to check out what I have now. I'm proud to say the show is reaching people of all across the nation and is garnish a following. The message is not only resonating with educational community, but with the community at large. I, humbly, and with honor, look forward to bringing it Mister Fry back to Los Angeles, after a successful tour last fall and winter. I'll see you Sunday, April 11th, 3 pm. The end of a 5 month tour is a new beginning

phwuuuu.... What a wonderful 5 month 4 city tour it has been and I thank each and everyone of you who have supported this show in anyway. Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Washington DC and New York. An extended run in New York is every actor's dream. It has been indescribable to be able to make people laugh and cry with a show that means so much for so many people. It's nice to put my feet up for a few days but that gets old quickly, so next week I'm off to the National NACA conference in Boston Feb 13-17 to further the message of the show. I'll meet new people who hopefully will be able to help spread the message of the show to college campus's around the country.

Meanwhile. I'm looking forward to getting back in the class room and on the stage and returning to Los Angeles.
